Timber! Outdoor Music Festival

A new visual identity for Timber! Outdoor Music Festival, beginning with an original illustrated event poster and expanding into a full Instagram content system.
Timeline: 10 weeksTools: Figma, Procreate, Photoshop, Illustrator

Problem:
Timber! needed a poster that could stop someone mid-scroll or mid-sidewalk and feel true to the festival's indie, community-oriented spirit. A single poster, however strong, can't sustain presence or build anticipation on its own.
Solution:The poster established the visual world: character-driven illustrations, hand-drawn typography, and a warm summer color palette. The social media campaign extends that world across an Instagram content system where every post reads as part of the same cohesive brand.

Background
This project started as a class assignment: design an event poster for Timber! Outdoor Music Festival. The brief asked for something that could stop someone mid-sidewalk, hold their attention, and be worth hanging on a wall.

“5 senses” mind map
“5 senses” moodboard

The research process included a five-senses mind map to get inside the festival experience, visual moodboards pulling from past Timber! branding and the broader indie festival design landscape, and 25 thumbnail sketches exploring different compositional approaches. The final poster leaned into a character-driven illustration system, hand-drawn typography, and a warm color palette rooted in the outdoor summer setting.

After the poster was finished, it became the starting point for a second phase: building out what a real social media campaign for Timber! could look like, using the poster's visual world as the foundation.
