Citra Magazine & Digital Expansion

Citra is a quarterly arts-and-culture magazine celebrating niche interests, youth creativity, and visual culture. Issue No. 1 is themed "Trinkets."
Timeline: 15 weeksTools: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, Framer, After Effects

Problem:
How do you launch an original editorial brand with a distinct voice, produce a complete print magazine, and then translate that physical object into a digital presence, without losing what made it feel alive in the first place?
Solution: Citra was built to occupy a specific gap in the indie publication landscape—polished enough to feel credible, personal enough to feel real. The print magazine established the visual language, the website extends it as a marketing platform for the print product, and the narrative motion graphic piece expands it into video-based media.

Background
Citra began as a 12-week assignment to design and produce a 48+ page magazine from scratch. The concept had to be pitched and approved, with the bar being a viable publication that could sustain multiple issues and genuinely serve an audience. Three reader archetypes anchored the concept from the start, each representing a distinct motivation for picking up the magazine.

The accompanying website was self-initiated, added on top of the print deliverable. After completing the magazine, I wanted to think through how the brand would live digitally. This led to a full competitive analysis, a positioning strategy, and a high-fidelity Framer prototype built as a conceptual marketing site for the print product.

As another extension of Citra's digital brand presence, I produced this short video examining the cultural shift toward physical media and offline technology. It translates the magazine's editorial perspective into motion, meeting Citra's audience on a platform where they already consume cultural critique and video essays.
